Precision Engineering Surveys offers a range of Site Capture Technologies, one of which is Laser Scanning and has developed this technique to become a world leader in this service.

With the use of Laser Scanning we are able to achieve a high level of accuracy of as built conditions where known information is critical to minimising Plant Shutdown time, revamping existing facilities, generating accurate 3D computer models & 2D drawings. PES has successfully utilised Laser Scanning and has  applied these techniques to the following industries:

  • Process Plant
  • Offshore (Oil & Gas)
  • Mining
  • Architectural
  • Aerospace
  • Marine
  • Food
  • Construction Assistance

There are several direct and immediate benefits a project will realise with the use of Laser Scanning. The first and most immediate benefit to be realised is a reduction in cost of performing the site survey. Traditional methods of performing site surveys require the use of several personnel to manually measure and sketch the as-built condition of the facility. This manual process is time consuming, frequently contains errors, and results in minimal amounts of useful field data being collected.

The Laser Scanning process, on the other hand, collects large volumes of very accurate information and data that are translated into highly accurate, visual models that can be manipulated, analysed and extensively used in downstream engineering and construction processes. At the same time, the collection of the site data is usually significantly less than manual processes.
